Lonestarcell MTN Foundation’s purpose is to bring about meaningful measurable and sustainable change that helps disadvantaged and rural communities to become self-sufficient. With a focus on innovative technology, we aim to uplift communities towards independence in the bold new digital world.
The Foundation’s policy of evaluating the impact and applicability of its interventions recently saw it streamlined from four (Mother & Child Health, Youth Empowerment and Education, Arts & Culture) to two portfolios, National Priority and Youth Development.
National Priority
This portfolio invests in Initiatives that support community infrastructure development, health-related initiatives that support women and children, aligns with the Government National Development plan and contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Youth Developement
This portfolio invests in programmes which provide the youth, as the largest and most impacted population group with skills, tools, access, knowledge, and opportunities to become economically active citizens.

MTN’s global policy is to have a proportion of each operating unit’s profit after tax dedicated to undertaking corporate social responsibility activities. These funds are what the Foundation uses for its projects.
